Escape to the peaceful and serene Byron Bay Hinterland and you will truly be blown away.
Coorabella overlooks 48.5 hectares of the peaceful and serene Byron Bay hinterland just 15 minutes from the centre of Byron, 10 minutes to Bangalow and eight minutes from Mullumbimby.
The 100-year-old, five-bedroom Queenslander was transported piece by piece from a nearby town 30 years ago. When the owner, Giovanni D’Ercole, first set eyes on it, the grand old house was completely run-down, covered with thick vines and full of dust and birds’ nests. He could see it had good bones and just wanted to bring it back to the way it once was.
It is set amongst rainforest, natural swimming pools, waterfalls, giant fig trees, macadamia and frangipani farms.
It has a wrap around verandah, old farmyard relics and original pressed tin ceilings, old world and Balinese antiques and plenty of the former owner's slightly left-of-centre style. There is a touch of Gothic and even a mirror ball to set the scene for parties.
The five double bedrooms each have a different feel and there is a large open-plan living area with door opening to the wide verandah. For chilly nights there is an open fireplace and the kitchen is modern stainless steel with stove, dishwasher and walk-in pantry. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen during their stay.
There is television, video, stereo and an outdoor barbecue.
