Featherdale

The weather is warming up. Spring is here and so are the park’s new additions. It’s only 45 minutes from the centre of Sydney, but you'll feel like you're out in the bush.

You will get to see unique albino animal species including Blue Tongue, kookaburra, tawny frogmouth, wallaroo, tammar wallaby, and a peacock. Featherdale has over 30 varieties of endangered species. They have Spotted Tail Quoll babies that are at a great size for filming. Featherdale is home to unique animals like the jabiru, cassowary, and some other unusual birds. Swing the billy with "Ted" the swagman (scheduled each day at 4.15pm).

Featherdale is situated on 7 acres of parkland landscaped with Australian native trees and shrubs. They have the largest privately owned native animal collection – over 2200 animals including koalas, kangaroos, wombats and wallabies.

There are many people who have never seen some of our more rare animals such as a bettong or a quokka or a quoll up close, or even a Jabiru, Brolga or Bustard. You will also see many species of albino animals including the cutest Wallaroo Joey and a gorgeous white kookaburra.

Over the last four consecutive years Featherdale have won the following prestigious awards:
  • “Significant Regional Attraction” at the NSW State Tourism Awards – 2000 and 2001.
  • “Tourism Retailing" at the NSW Tourism Awards in 2001.
