Everyone tells expectant mothers that they are well-advised to have as much rest, relaxation and pampering as they possibly can before the baby arrives as it's well near impossible to enjoy much of that after the big event.
Catriona Rowntree was keen to soak that advice in and was interested to check out Palazzo Versace's "babymoon"!
Called their What's Kickin' package, it's a local version of the European babymoon concept. It's all about taking a pregnant pause. Of course Versace is all about pampering, but for expectant parents, grandparents, godparents, aunties, uncles, it all goes a step further.
Imagine staying in the luxury hotel for two nights being served breakfast and wallowing in a 60-minute rejuvenating pedi-spa, having access to the Roman bath-style Salus per Aquum Spa and being able to park free of charge. It all sounds just like what the doctor ordered.
They have taken into consideration any special foods the expectant mother may be craving and there are mouth-watering delights on a special in-room menu. Sweet, salty, homemade biscuits and milk, fresh strawberries, vanilla-scented Chantilly cream, homemade hamburger and chips or hot dogs with pickles and mustard. That should just about cover all the well-known middle-of-the-night have-to-haves.
