In the 1920s, the building housing Royce Hotel was Australia's most glamorous automobile showroom, showcasing all the very latest Rolls-Royce models.
The hotel has recently completed a major redevelopment and added two floors of rooms, and the result is one of Melbourne's finest five-star boutique hotels.
It has just 100 superbly appointed suites and rooms, the award-winning Dish Restaurant and the popular Amberoom Bar. Rooms have 42-inch plasma screens, Italian marble bathrooms, CD players and modern designer furnishing.
The spacious Royal Suite has a king-sized, four-poster bed and comfortable modular seating. One-bedroom suites have separate lounge area with a sofa doubling as a queen bed. Some have a kitchenette.
Executive suites are spacious and modern and some have balconies offering views of Melbourne's skyline. Superior Deluxe and Superior Balcony rooms were added as part of the two-storey extension, the latter, coming with a furnished balcony.
Mezzanine rooms are double storey with a lounge area on the ground floor and bedroom on the first. Large bay windows provide lots of natural light.
Deluxe rooms are spacious and comfortable and most have views over the courtyard or towards the CBD. Some have a walk-out balcony.
The Royce is within walking distance of Toorak Road and Chapel Street, the CBD, Royal Botanic Gardens, Shrine of Remembrance and Albert Park Lake.
