The Whale's Tale is a superb 30m ocean-going, power/sail launch, owned by Oceanic Schooner Company. It takes visitors on a luxurious day of cruising the beautiful Fiji Islands, two of which are uninhabited.
The schooner was built in Suva and can cruise equally well under sail or by motor, which allows her to get up to 10 knots. It has advanced navigational equipment such as satellite navigation, radar, weather read-out and worldwide radio communication. It also has a stocked bar, ice-maker and spacious galley.
The dining area is on the main deck. A gourmet buffet luncheon is prepared on board and served al fresco. As you return home at sunset, cocktails are served and the crew plays local music on guitars, ukuleles and traditional Fijian instruments.
Mamanuca Islands are set in deep blue waters with fringes of coral reefs and some of Fiji's most outstanding natural beauty. There are several luxurious resorts which have boat, seaplane and helicopter access.
Malamala and Honeymoon islands are private and uninhabited and are popular with day-trippers for picnics, swimming and snorkelling. Malamala has white sandy beaches and lots of coconut palms and is surrounded by live coral reefs and colourful marine life. In the centre is a Fijian bure, a shady place to rest and enjoy a cool drink.
